For an old friend...

Who am I? I am the honey from the bee, how deep the roots go. I am the tallest tree, I am the brightest eye.  I am the perfect circle. I am the stars in the sky.  Look at the stars, look how they shine for you. I am the creator, the giver. I am the clown.  I am the essence of the lion, strong and free. I am Shakespeare's greatest drama, "to be or not to be".  My girl, my girl, my girl, talking' bout my girl. You remember her? Well I am her and she is ME.  That girl with the red dress on...Who is SHE? She is the one who broke free, the light of day burning my eyes to see. Hi without the H please, for this is I, this is Me.  My knowledge is my light, my light is my truth, and my truth is my freedom.  I stand proud in my love, no falling for me.  The eyes of my heart they let me to see. Oh my brown eyed girl, this is for you, this is for She.

Summer...

Image
We have been enjoying it! There's no doubt about that.  We've been camping, hiking, swimming, birthday partying, and more! Don't get me wrong, there's been some work mixed in there too, but for the most part we are trying to soak up what will be the last summer before we are officially in the school system...eek! Excited and ready for a new chapter to begin but also holding on to the lazy mornings and freedom that summer brings.  Here are the next few market dates for summer, with Make It, coming up this winter (expect to see a load of new stuff for that!): AUGUST: FIREHALL FARMER'S MARKET Sunday August 4th // 10-2 Sunday August 18th // 10-2 NEW WESTMINSTER RIVER MARKET  Saturday August 31st // 12-5 810 Quayside Drive, New Westminster SEPTEMBER: FIREHALL FARMER'S MARKET Sunday August 1st // 10-2 NEW WESTMINSTER RIVER MARKET  Saturday September 28th // 12-5 810 Quayside Drive, New Westminster

Khatsahlano 2013!

Image
What an amazing event! Thank you to everyone who supported LissLane Art and Design through your purchases, kind words, and general great spirit throughout the entire day. It was an amazing sight to see so many people packing West 4th Ave, having fun in support of music, art and community.  I'm so grateful I was able to be a part of it, and so hope to see everyone again next year! xo

Mid-week fun in Steveston

Image
Here are some pictures from my sushi and ice cream date with the boys in Steveston Village :) These two little sushi lovers were in heaven.  We arrived at the restaurant just a little bit before the rest of the world was ready for lunch, and if you have two (sometimes) crazy children, this is one of those small things you find yourself thankful for! After they devoured every last piece we set out on the hunt for some dairy free ice cream, and found a few delish flavours on the pier.  The sun was out, the breeze was magnificent and the boys were happy.  Perfect time together :) XO

Monkey 1 and Monkey 2...

These two crack me up! Got a few sweet pics on our rainy day photo shoot, just had to share :) xo

Ladner Market

Image
Bibs, Hats and onesies...oh my! The table was full yesterday at the Ladner Market.  One of the perks of being a member with the Watershed Artworks Society in North Delta is the fact that we get to share booth space at the Ladner Market every summer.  Ladner has grown in to a huge farmers and artisan market showcasing everything from pottery, to woodworking, to painting, to salad dressing and specialty food items...and it's all amazing! There is live music almost all day long (which we were fortunate enough to be quite close to this weekend!) and the food vendors are to die for. Seriously. I'm so grateful my stuff was well received yesterday, and after a long week of working after the kiddos went to bed I am renewed and ready for a great summer full of more great markets.  You can find me next weekend at the River Market in New Westminster on Saturday and the brand new Firehall Farmers Market in North Delta on Sunday.  You can find times and addresses on the even...

Field Trip Inspiration - Boundary Bay Earthwise Garden

Image
You never know where inspiration will strike!  There's nothing better than time with the big guy, and in particular, time where we get to learn and explore together. I have so enjoyed every one of his field trips this year and am so thankful I was able to be there for all of them!  I look forward to sharing these same special experiences with the little guy one day soon too :) xo

Arts and culture week in Delta

Here are a few shots from last weekends event at Scottsdale Mall in North Delta!  These are all pictures of work done by Watershed Artworks Society Artists. We participated in an event organized by Collaborate Delta! in celebration of Arts and Culture week in BC.

New stuff!

Hello Friends, I know it's been a while but I'm here to tell you that new designs are on the way!  Here's a sneak peek at the process I use to create my designs.  Each design is hand-drawn first and then transferred on to a piece of linoleum, which I hand carve and print on paper to get the very first print!  Next, I transfer that print on to the computer so I can size it perfectly, then I set up the silk screen (which I'll describe one day in another post, as that's quite a lengthy process as well!) so I can hand screen each of the onesies.  As I go along I will take pictures so that one day I can write about the entire process. For now, be warned that penguins, butterflies and maybe a few more little friends will be on their way soon in new springy colours on a short sleeve onesie! Stay tuned for all the progress... Love these!

Just wanted to share with you all these pictures from Spruce Collective in Abbotsford! I love their mix of new and vintage pieces in the store and think my little owl friends fit in just perfectly.  If you are in Abbotsford there is no shortage of lovely things to look at in this shop...well worth a visit :) xo
